Emeryville Pride Month Special Celebration!

Join East Bay Stonewall Board Member and Mayor of Emeryville John Bauters in kicking off pride month in style!

Tuesday, June 5 at 6:00 PM

The event will include some honors for local leaders, we will do a special recognition for the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, drag queen Honey Daniels will do several numbers as part of our entertainment throughout the evening. Food provided by a local establishment.

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER: Christian Bales

Christian is a HS senior from Kentucky who identifies as gay and gender non-conforming. He was revealed to be the valedictorian of his class at Holy Cross HS in Covington, KY. The morning of the graduation, the principal called his parents and told them that they were changing the program for the graduation and that the school was not going to let him give a speech, in part because they were concerned he might not show up "in men's attire." Despite having the best GPA in his school, it was the first time the school did not have a valedictorian speech.

***Afterwards, Trader Vic's is offering free Mai Tais and apps to anyone who comes from our event over to the restaurant. We will have half the lounge and they will broadcast election results so you can get your election fix too and hang out with a lot of LGBTQ friends and allies!
